Hey sweet tea, how did November treat you?
This is a wonderful comic I read on the extra labour women usually have to perform. I am pleased that the vast majority of men in my life do not resemble the one portrayed in this comic, but I know of too many who do. Globally, sadly, women bear the brunt of unpaid work- to the detriment of their mental health. So, I think it’s something important that we should all be aware of and try to reduce!
Sad (devastated) to report seizures are back in full force. From late night conversations with friends (why is it those conversations have to take place so late?!) and the cozy writing workshop of my dreams, to watching the Eras Tour Movie, and receiving surprise gifts from a friend on the other side of the world, November has not been without joy! Here’s the poem I wrote in our Gilmore Girls/Anne of Green Gables/Taylor Swift Autumnal workshop! Follow Poetry Orchard to partake in a future workshop!
I’d love to live in a small town
Magic might mean spells to some
But to me it means someone like Luke knowing your name and your favourite dish
It means having a route that you take home every day
Seeing a tree in autumn and already knowing what it looks like in blooming spring and withering winter.
Magic is the moments you might miss if you’re in a hurry, the time difference in pausing to smell snow and cursing the icy roads
And of course travelling and adventure have their place,
but a small town is where I’d love to live.
I’d love to live.
Caveat: I live in a small town, I just can’t leave my house very often!
There’s so much I want to do, so many ways I wish I could help more, so many problems I want to solve. And I could, I am sure I could, if only my health would let me. But for now my goal has to be staying alive, and that involves playing Zelda with my mother and letting my friends know I love them (hi!!)
