Hey Sweet Teas!
Returning to ‘normal’ has not been romantic, so, of course, I wrote about it. Here’s an excerpt from my latest blog, click here to read it in full: A non-love letter to supermarkets
Big red letters line the path every time that I leave the house: ‘you are not welcome in this world!’
I lament to my mother that I belong in lockdown.
I sob to my boyfriend that I make everything worse.
I spiral down and down, with the thoughts of my friends moving on with life and leaving me behind.
Internalised ableism was less loud in lockdown.
Have you felt anything similar? At the start of all this I was hopeful for inclusive change, but now I felt more isolated than ever… then I watched Jack Thorne’s speech on including disabled people and telling their stories in the TV industry! I’ve linked it below! Lifting the Lid on Disability Representation, (a subject I have been wanting to talk about in more detail for a really long time) is available now on my Patreon, sign up here
